Since Misty and I aren’t big football fans we weren’t locked up inside on this beautiful Sunday afternoon. Instead we decided to take a trip out to Anaheim to enjoy a day at The Disneyland Resort with the kids. During our stay though I noticed a familiar face; Travis Barker. Being a loyal Blink 182 fan for many years and growing up in the Corona/Riverside area, I had no trouble recognizing the former Blink 182 drummer as he walked by.
Escorted by a Disneyland Resort tour guide, we first spotted Travis and his group as they passed through Tomorrowland and stopped at the face painting booth at the exit of the new Pixie Hollow fairy meet and greet area. We didn’t get a chance to get any pics during this run in, but fortunately Travis and his group were on the same schedule we were and as we left Disneyland we wound up right behind him and his group.
We exited Disneyland and head over to Disney’s California Adventure at the same time that Barker and his party did and were able to capture a few decent candid shots of the drummer as he entered the park. Barker, who you may recall suffered severe burns during a plane crash that killed 4 others last September looked good considering, and from what I can tell only showed one possible sign of continued recovery. You’ll notice in he picture to the right that Barker’s right arm is covered in some sort of cloth glove or bandage, which covers a large portion of his forearm. I can only assume that this is to protect damage which was sustained last September.
Barker posted images from his hospital bed in mid October on his Myspace blog and at the time you could see his right hand sustained some serious burns. The former Blink 182 drummer began performing again earlier this year in a handful of appearances with his fellow plane crash survivor DJ-AM.
