DIana, thank you for your comment. It's nice to see that people in the community are coming across this post. I have been blown away by the sheer amount of support FOR prop 8 that is coming out of Corona. It disgusts me. However, in overhearing conversations with some of the Yes on 8 protesters it sounds like many of the churches in the area have a lot to do with the organization of these protests.

I'm not sure if you were out yesterday at all, but Main and Ontario was made up solely of No on 8 protesters around 3:30 or so. At the time I drove by I didn't see a single Yes on 8 supporter. I'm sure that changed later, but it was nice to see all 4 corners of that intersection loaded with support for No on 8.

Thank you SO much for writing this... I too was on my way to run some errands on Sat... I passed by a huge group of "Yes on 8" supporters on Magnolia and Rimpau on all four corners... I was sick to my stomach.... My boy friend who was meeting me at my destination said he had passed a group of "No on 8" supporters on California and Ontario.... We drove there together, parked behind the McDonald's and joined the group of "No on 8" supporters... The same very nice people pictured above... We stayed for about an hour and heard the same remarks, "Fucking Faggots!". Regardless of the slurs, everyone still remained positive voicing "No on 8" and holding up peace signs with our fingers.... We had a great time. It still amazed me how many children were there with their parents shouting "Yes on 8"... i remember thinking "these kids are 8, 11, 14, they are not even allowed to vote!"

Cain, I've gotta be honest with you those are pretty far fetched reasons in terms of why to vote No one 8, but you're supporting the No vote so whether or not I think it's a bit crazy really doesn't matter. LoL

Katie, I'm glad to see your comment. I have seen a lot of your Yes on 8 stuff on twitter and have often wanted to comment, but ultimately chose not to because we are simply coming from different angles and both have our reasons on why we feel our choice is the right choice.

My goal for this post wasn't so much as to push the No on 8 position on people, so much as it was more of a way to show the power of being in a free country and the power of unity for a cause.

I also wanted to point out that while we have come so far as a nation, we are still so far from being a society that isn't plagued by hate and ignorance. It's sad that just because I was in support of something I was immediately labeled a "Faggot", yet the truth is I have a wife and kids.

No matter the views, I love how we live in a country where we can so freely express our opinion and become bonded with those who share them, going out to fight whatever injustice we may feel is occurring. Kudos to you for standing up for what you believe in, that is what America is all about! It makes me sad for the intolerance and the bigotry that exists in America, from what I read it seems as if you saw a lot of it. While I obviously have my own points of view and reasons for voting Yes on Prop 8, it is a highly heated argument because both sides have very strong points which I can clearly view. I'm proud to have friends who are as strong in their beliefs as I am and feel the need to get out in their community and stand up for what they feel is right.
