I’ve spent a lot of time these past few weeks fighting against Prop 8 and it’s recent passage. I’ve had a lot to say and made a number of points against Prop 8 and have even thrown out a, though light hearted, potential solution. On November 10th Countdown’s Keith Olbermann made the following statement in regards to the passage of Prop 8 in California. I found it moving and was happy to hear that he made a lot of similar points that I have made. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did, and I hope those of you who voted Yes on 8 or were on the fence about the issue find some value in this.
This issue is far from over and with as much support as the No side is getting after the election I am hoping things can change. My only hope is that things can change in such a way that there is a compromise that will prevent this from going back on the ballot in 2012 if it gets overturned somehow.

I really adore Olbermann even when I don’t agree with him because not many people in the news media have the courage to say exactly what’s on their mind in the harsh and brilliant light of truth. His rants are always eloquent and thought provoking.
In this case he expresses his views with a passion and clarity that have eluded me in my attempts to explain my utter disappointment and disgust with 52% of California voters. People are so quick to dismiss their own bigotry with words like morals and values. And for what? No other reason than their own hatred, discomfort and fear.
@Kristina – I’ve actually never seen the show. As you know I don’t watch a lot of TV and I of course do not have cable TV at the moment, but my friend sent me the video and I really liked it.
I know what you mean about liking what people in news media have to say because of the fact they have courage to say what is on their mind. When I used to have XM satellite radio I would listen to the Glen Beck Program on CNN. I didn’t always agree with him, but he would be truthful in what he felt and that kept me listening even when I didn’t agree with him.
Lol I don’t really watch the show at all but Tony sends me clips of the best stuff and tells me about it frequently. lol. So I watch vicariously?
